Sydney Cooper Senior Smiles™ is a Southern California-based nonprofit organization that trains, recruits, and educates volunteers of all ages on the needs of the elderly and pairs the volunteer with a senior who would benefit from companionship. All volunteers are trained to recognize and understand age-related disabilities such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, stroke, hearing, visual, and mobility impairments.

We aim to bridge the gap between generations by facilitating and nurturing friendships among people of all ages. We are not only dedicated to enriching the lives of our seniors by offering companionship, but those of our volunteers through their experience.

Volunteer Spotlight: Victor Do

February 5, 2015

Victor Do has been an active member of Senior Smiles for nearly a year. As a recent graduate, Victor still volunteers despite his busy schedule working as a physical therapy aide while also preparing for graduate school. For him, volunteering with Senior Smiles is a chance to spend time with the friends he has made in the senior living community. Volunteer coordinators and site directors agree that Victor is one of the most consistent and caring volunteers in Senior Smiles.
